Teaching Authors Blog Update
Our first book giveaway at www.TeachingAuthors.com was a great success! Ann Whitford Paul gave us a wonderful interview and we received lots of terrific comments from our readers. As a follow-up to the interview, our current topic is writing picture books. I’ll be the last Teaching Author to post on the subject, on Wednesday, July 29. Due stop by and visit.

My next publication coming soon
I am honored to have an article coming out in the 2010 Children’s Writer’s and Illustrator’s Market Guide, edited by Alice Pope, which should be available in August. In case you’re not familiar with it, the CWIM is the “bible” for those who write for children and teens. The book comes out annually, and includes listings of children’s book and magazine publishers along with feature articles. My feature is on considerations and tips for choosing character names, and is called, “What’s in a Name? Maybe More than You Think” To see a preview of the other articles, see Alice Pope’s July 16th CWIM blog: http://cwim.blogspot.com/search/label/2010%20Children%27s%20Writer%27s%20and%20Illustrator%27s%20Market
