Carmela's E-Newsletter, #7

12/11/2009

Welcome to the latest edition of my e-mail newsletter! The holidays are a busy time, so I’ll keep this short.

In this issue:
• “Student Success Story” interview and book giveaway at www.TeachingAuthors.com
• Upcoming class at College of DuPage
• Please help “spread the word”

“Student Success Story” and book giveaway
On Wednesday, I introduced a new feature on www.TeachingAuthors.com, Student Success Stories, by honoring one of my former students: Laura Crawford. After taking my class at College of DuPage eight years ago, Laura went on to publish 6 picture books. I hope you’ll stop by to read the interview and enter for a chance to win an autographed copy of Laura’s latest book, THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION FROM A TO Z. The direct link to the post is http://www.teachingauthors.com/2009/12/book-giveaway-and-our-first-student.html . Entry deadline for the giveaway is Saturday, Dec. 12, 11 pm CST.

Upcoming class at College of DuPage
If you or someone you know is interested in trying to follow in Laura’s footsteps, I’ll again be offering my class in Writing for Children and Young Adults at the College of DuPage next month. The class will run Wednesdays, January 20-March 3, 2010 (seven weeks), 7-9 p.m. For more information, see http://www.carmelamartino.com/events.htm

Please help “spread the word”
I hope you will forward this email to anyone you know who may be interested. Also, please encourage others to subscribe at http://www.carmelamartino.com/newsletter.htm . I promise not to clutter your inbox—I don’t foresee sending this out more than once or twice a month. Of course, if you don’t find this newsletter helpful, or are feeling overwhelmed with email, you can always unsubscribe on the same webpage.

If you have any questions, for the quickest response, don’t reply to this email. Instead, email me directly.

I wish you blessings and peace this holiday season. And happy reading!

Carmela
